“This series of books covering the pubs of Wisbech has been researched, on and off, over the last twenty years. Initially, it was never meant to be printed but over the years people have asked me to publish my findings. Volume 1 covers the first thirty-seven pubs, alphabetically.
This is not a full history of the pubs; there was never enough documented about most of them to make that possible. What it is, is a walk through the social history of some of the less salubrious establishments that Wisbech had to offer. I hope you find the associated stories as fascinating as I did.
