Seeing the recent research published about the weaving that was part of Thomas Clarkson’s chest was really inspiring, and I hope to link further to the work in the chest at the museum with practical workshops at the Hub, in weaving, spinning and dyeing.

It was fantastic to welcome Mayor Dr Nik Johnson and other supporters of the project to the Hub. We gave a couple of speeches, showed everyone the model from Peckover House volunteers and had a quick tour of the buildings. The best part though, was

We’ve been working on the Studio space, getting it ready for hiring to community groups, support organisations and to run projects from ourselves – talks, activities, classes. We have lots of ideas, get in touch if you have a need of a central space to run your own, or if you have an idea for a group you’d like to start.

Are you looking for a volunteering role and would you like to support the hub’s development?

We’re looking for people who would like to take on a few hours a week to work in the shop, also anyone who’s interested in helping the management team in building this new Wisbech asset.
